Very Apt

I guess every one some time or the other has gone through this thought.

Why do some people fail to live up to our expectations?

And I happened to see this very apt observation in my inbox.

Some of us waste our time waiting for people to live up to our expectations.

We are so concerned about what others are doing that we don’t do anything ourselves.

It is not so important what others are up to; compared to what you are doing.

Focus on what you do, your work; Not on others.

  1. That depends on the bonding between two people Santhosh. Obviously our mom wants to do what ever we want. And we want our mom to do the same. And sometimes we might also think why won’t mom do this for me. This doesn’t mean that we are asking her to live up to our expectations. However, there are few people who does that… I too suggest them not to expect many things from the opposite person and fail in that.

  2. This happens in two cases:
When people with potential fail to utilize it, we try to give them time and chance and wait for them.

When people develop huge expectations of incompetent people, they don’t have any option but to push them to come to their level. That is when they ignore their own work and potential.

Most of the times people on the other side always quarrel over being overburdened or talk negative about the person who has put expectations.
